The 41st Neu-Ulm City Festival - a celebration after the pandemic

Last Saturday was a blast! It’s city festival time again in Neu-Ulm!

Everyone put their plans on hold over the last couple of years and now people are using every excuse they can find to have some much needed post pandemic parties and get-togethers! New-Ulm’s village fest was no exception.

There was something to do all over the city - there were fun games, great music and lastly, no party will be complete without good food!

The village fair started at 11 a.m. with the tapping of the barrel on the town hall stage with Mayor Katrin Albsteiger, accompanied by music from the Neu-Ulm town band.

From 6:30 p.m. there was a Rock & Soul Lounge with a DJ and band on the Rathausplatz.

Classic rock, soft ballads and Pop rock was available from 6.30 p.m. on Petrusplatz with the band Timewarp and on Johannesplatz, one can expect the best club sound from DJ Diable (also from 6.30 p.m.) to dance and party!

Not too Cloudy and not too hot - just right for the occasion.

As one could expect, no wishes remained unfulfilled when it comes to culinary delights either - various clubs and organizations in Neu-Ulm provided a variety of foods and beverages. Beers and wines everywhere!!!

As the night progressed, all I saw were happy people...everywhere. In the end, one can only think that there is a particular intimacy that one can really experience on a dance-floor or in a concert that can evolve into a transcendent experience.

This is something to be valued and cherished as part of the human experience — and something to really invest and indulge in, when the pandemic is in the past.
